Has a Moriarty been here before and accomplished much? It seems strange for there to be so many Holmes and none of his nemesis, after all.

The Sebastian Moran I am familiar with is a fan of the Arsenal. Additionally, he is one of Moriarty's colleagues. A trusted individual, though he eventually grew ... tired of their relationship, for one reason or another.
[That's a vague way of putting it, but he assumes that John will pick up some of the implications in what he's saying: Moran no longer wished to work for her. It grew inconvenient.]
Fascinating, and a point of interest. This Moran is aware of Holmes and Watson and is antagonistic toward them—us—but he's also not very subtle. It leads one to wonder.
Depends on what needs doing, I think. He's careful about people not knowing exactly who he is, but ...
